Managing Contacts
About your contacts list
The NCRA Web Messenger contact list displays your current and pending contacts and information about their status. You will see some or all of the following groups in your contact list:
-
Current conversations: (This category only appears if you have open conversations.) Lists the people you are currently talking with. Click a name to open the current conversation window.
-
Online: Lists your contacts who are currently online. Click a name to open a new conversation.
-
Offline: Lists your contacts who are offline.

Add a Contact
When you use Cute Web Messenger, you can only send messages to people who are members of your contact list.

The "Add Contact" dialog window will now display.

You may now search for a Username (remember that this is different from your Display name -- there are no spaces and the NCRA ID number is appended at the end of it).
An easy way is to use the * global character. For example if I was searching for Candis, I could just enter "Can*". The search will then display everyone that has a username that begns with 'Can".

Notes
- You can only add people to your contact list who have joined the forum and for whom a username exists.
- You can add up to 150 contacts to your list.
Block others from seeing or contacting you
You can control who sees your status and who sends you instant messages. This helps preserve your privacy and protect you from unwanted contact.
In the conversation window, click the Block button.

In your contact list, the status of the contact changes to Blocked.
To unblock a contact, click the Unblock button.
Sending-Messages
To send an instant message to a contact by clicking the name of the person you want to talk to in the main messenger window.
A conversation window will display. In the box at the bottom of the window, you can type your message and either hit enter or press send.
