Changes to the CLVS Program - August 15, 2008
At their July 2008 annual meeting, the NCRA Board of Directors approved changes to the CLVS program as recommended by the CLVS Council. These changes will take effect as of the beginning of the new fiscal year on October 1. More information.
Plaintiff Compels Videotaping Despite Defense Objection - August 22, 2008
Bergen County, NJ. Superior Court Judge Rachelle L. Harz, ruled on July 21, 2008, that a plaintiff may compel the videotaping of her own discovery deposition despite the objection of the defendant.
In her decision posted to the New Jersey state judiciary Web site, Judge Harz ruled that the reading of a cold transcript alone could not adequately capture the plaintiff’s situation in the given case and overruled the defense objection to the videotaping of deposition proceedings. Full article
